The Ever Given arrived at Port Said, where it anchored at the port’s outer limits. The ship will undergo inspections at the port.
According to sources, the ship will undertake bottom cleaning, a dive survey as well as a further inspection by ABS.
The inspections will focus on the damage to the vessel’s bow/hull, after the grounding, along with any additional damage caused by the refloating operations.
After the inspections are concluded, the ship’s owner will determine if the vessel can continue its journey directly to its next port of call, Rotterdam.
As for the size of the compensation deal between the Suez Canal Authority and Shoei Kisen, no information has emerged.
