According to Reuters, the EU naval mission safeguarding vessels traversing the Red Sea reported that its frigate, Psara, successfully neutralized two unmanned aerial vehicles in the Gulf of Aden on 7th July.
The Aspides mission, initiated in February, aims to counter drone and missile attacks on ships by Houthi militants aligned with Iran.
As explained, these militants claim their attacks are in support of Palestinians amidst Israel’s conflict in Gaza.
Additionally, other nations, such as the United States, have naval forces active in the region.
