Minimum health and safety requirements
Operators are reminded that EU Directive 2003/10/EC has come into full force regarding seagoing vessels on 15/2/2011. The directive initially put into force on 15/2/2006 with an additional five year window regarding sea going ships.
The directive is providing a robust framework to manage noise exposure hazards by setting
- Minimum health and safety requirements (including exposure limit values between 80 to 87 db)
- Employer Obligations regarding :
- Risk Assessment
- Noise Measurement in the workplace
- Limitation to exposure with necessary control options
