Equinor informed that the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) granted them a drilling permit for well 30/6-31, located in the North Sea offshore Norway. By giving this green light to Equinor, the company has the ability to begin its drillling activities without any concerns.
Specifically, the well 30/6-31S is scheduled to be drilled from the West Hercules drilling rig, after completing the drilling of wildcat well 31/5-7 for Equinor Energy AS in production license 001.
Equinor has already secured safety consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) in order to use the West Hercules rig for this well.
The drilling operations will begin in early 2020 while their duration is estimated around 31 days.
