An explosion took place onboard a bulker while it was undergoing repair in Vietnam, on February 2, injuring eight shipyard workers.
According to information by the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province, the accident occurred on the Oriental Glory at Nosco Shipyard in Hai Phong.
The Vietnam-flag ship has been docked at the yard for maintenance work since the middle of January.
As Cao Tuong Huy, acting chairman of the committee, informed, firefighters went the area of the incident, in order to tackle the fire and organise a rescue of the yard workers.
An investigation will alsobe carried out into the cause of the explosion.
