During the Nor-Shipping Conference in Oslo, the ‘Dubai Maritime Virtual Cluster’ platform has gained attention, being a platform that adapts to innovation and technological advances, to serve the Maritime cluster. The platform is generally supported by global maritime industry pioneers, as it provides a portal with information and knowledge.
As the Dubai Maritime City Authority reports, the ‘Dubai Maritime Virtual Cluster’ includes a virtual maritime centre for innovation, R&D and training, and a maritime sector index.
Amer Ali, Executive Director, DMCA, informed that the cluster is characterised by competitiveness, comprehensive and investment attractiveness; In addition, the platform provides an integrated framework, aiming to improve the maritime cluster, based on four basic sectors; developing maritime cluster, empowerment, awareness and participation and enhancing the confidence of investors in the local maritime environment to attract promising investments to increase the contribution of the maritime sector and make Dubai a major hub in the global economy.

He continued that the Virtual Cluster boosts innovation, research, development, training and spreading of maritime practices, in cooperation with the local shipping industry.
