Maritime software, services and data analysis provider NAPA, announced that DSME chose the 3D model-based NAPA Steel software to streamline design processes and be up to date with the 21st century naval architects and structure designers.
DSME will use the software at both the initial design stages, and detailed design stages. NAPA Steel is lightweight enough to handle fast design changes while providing detailed results for each design stage.
Naval architects and structure designers can use the same model of NAPA Steel throughout the process of class society rule checks, at stages like plan approval drawings, FE (Finite Element) model generation, and weight calculations, thus reducing the design time.
Ilmo Kuutti, President, NAPA, noted: “Using 3D models not only speeds up the process of ship design – it also creates software that is easy to learn, fun to use, and unlocks potential for innovation through collaboration at all stages.”
