DP World expanded its Green Marine membership by adding the Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Saint John terminals to the Green Marine program.
Doug Smith, CEO, DP World Canada, shared that the company has added three more Canadian terminals to the Green Marine program—Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Saint John—as part of DP World’s commitment to sustainability.
The Green Marine environmental program addresses several environmental priority issues through its 14 performance indicators, including air emissions, greenhouse gases, spill prevention, waste management, and community relations. The certification process is rigorous and transparent, with the individual performance of each participant made public annually and the results independently verified every two years.
The program emphasizes strong and transparent environmental practices, something we’ve been passionate about since our Prince Rupert terminal earned Green Marine certification back in 2013.
…said Doug Smith, CEO, DP World Canada.
The CEO also highlighted that the company is committed to integrating environmental practices into its operations and continuously improving its sustainability. This step is just one part of the company’s bigger mission to promote sustainability across its global operations and help steer the industry toward a greener future.
Furthermore, Green Marine stated that DP World will assess their environmental performance through key performance indicators addressing issues such as GHG air emissions, spill prevention, stormwater, and waste management.
We are very pleased to welcome three more DP World terminals in Canada. DP World’s commitment to completing the certification process for four of its terminals illustrates environmental leadership that we hope will be followed by other marine companies.
…said David Bolduc President and CEO, Green Marine.
