Debris on Japanese islands gives hope for missing livestock crew

A crowdfunding page dedicated to the the crew of Gulf Livestock 1 reports that there are promising indications. Namely, after raising more than raised more than $84,000, the crowdfunding page informed that there are encouraging resutls.

Namely, after two weeks of searching, images from crew and pilots have brought back promising results.

Firstly, what appears to be a canopy from a Viking life raft (the same used on the Gulf Livestock 1) was spotted by helicopter on the south-west Japanese island of Kuchinoshima, around 260kms from the last known location of the Gulf Livestock 1.

In adidition, on the same day, a life ring and a single blue boot was spotted 35kms away on the island of Gajajima.

Other sightings of dead cows and other ship debris have been spotted & photographed in a similar area.

The findings leave friends and families of the remaining crew extremely hopeful that more signs of the Gulf Livestock 1 and the whereabouts of it’s missing crew can be found

Any further donations managed will be going directly to SAR aircraft to search the remaining Tokara Island group and the islands south of Amami.

The Panamanian-flagged livestock carrier, Gulf Livestock 1, with 43 crewmembers onboard is said to have been lost southwest of Japan after sailing into a typhoon moving across the region.
