Danica Crewing Specialists has introduced a new recruitment platform to accelerate crew recruitment and address the growing shortage of seafarers.
According to Danica, the platform uses advanced technology, including AI, to streamline communication with seafarers and efficiently process applications, enabling ship owners to quickly fill vacancies with qualified crew members.
Henrik Jensen, Danica’s Founder and CEO, explained that the new platform was developed in response to the needs and concerns of ship owners and operators regarding recruitment. The platform automates job searches, initial negotiations, and answers applicant questions using machine learning and AI, but it is not intended to replace human expertise.
To remind, in an exclusive interview to SAFETY4SEA, Henrik Jensen had suggested that seafarer training should adapt to new challenges and highlights the importance of providing to seafarers fully contracted employment.
A unique feature of the platform is its ability to systematically collect and analyze data on why a candidate may not be interested in a particular vacancy. This information aims to enable Danica to advise shipping companies on seafarers’ preferences and make necessary adjustments to job offers to attract more suitable candidates.
