According to local media, a cruise ship departed from Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal in downtown Hongkou District on Sunday, signaling the return of domestic cruise tours to Shanghai after a three-year hiatus.
A stated by the local officials, the first Chinese-flagged luxury cruise ship, China Merchants-Yidun, will depart Shanghai on Sunday for a five-day journey of sightseeing and cultural experiences to Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, before returning to Shanghai.
From May 7, an eight-day cruise along China’s coastline will be available, stopping at various ports and destinations such as Zhoushan, Xiamen, Fujian province, and Shenzhen.
