As the cruise company informed Fox News, a crewmember from the MSC Seaview cruise ship dived into the water to save a passenger who ‘chose, on her own will, to jumb overboard’ in Italy. The unidentified Irish woman allegedly jumped from the MSC Seaview cruise ship while it was at the Italian city of Genoa.
Specifically, the vessel’s crewmember saw the woman jumping and immediately jumped to rescue her. The company confirmed that the crew member who’s an experienced sailor, ‘was able to save the woman in minutes.’
After being rescued, the victim was brought back onboard and provided with first aid by the ship’s medical team. She was then transferred to a local hospital.
Moreover, the cruise company commented on local media that they applaud the crew member and the shipboard teams that were involved in the salvage operations and acted in the quickest and most effective way, securing the safety of the concerned passenger.
The 5,000-passenger MSC Seaview continued on her commercial voyage and reached her next scheduled destination, La Spezia, on June 18.
Concluding, the cruise continued its journey as scheduled and arrived in La Spezia the next morning.t
