The Carnival Magic cruise ship of Carnival Cruise Line sustained an unintentional shoot discharge from the ship’s Exhaust Gas Control Systems (EGCS), while preparing to sail from Grand Turk.
The Carnival Magic cruise liner had a one-minute power interruption on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, which resulted in a soot discharge that was originally misinterpreted as an oil slick. The contaminant was then confirmed as soot by the cruise line’s environmental specialists.
According to international news, the company responded immediately to clean up the soot discharge. Noticing the disruption, passengers posted pictures and videos on social media, such as the one you can see below:
