At that time, ‘Calisto’ was en route from Hamburg to Gdynia. After the incident, the ship suffered some damage on its port side, but it managed to continue the voyage into the Kiel Canal.
No one was injured due to the incident, according to the German water police.
Moreover, the ship was capable of sailing on its own power, while no oil spill has been reported either.
The collision did not affect the navigation in the Kiel Canal, and an investigation to determine the causes of the collision is now ongoing.
