Eni has successfully introduced gas into the Tango Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility off the coast of the Republic of Congo.
According to Eni, the Tango FLNG facility features “split mooring” configuration that has a liquefaction capacity of about 1 billion cubic meters per year (BCMA), moored alongside the Excalibur Floating Storage Unit (FSU).
After the commissioning phase, Tango FLNG is expected to produce its first LNG cargo by Q1 2024, marking the Republic of Congo as an LNG-producing country.
The Congo LNG project, enhancing gas resources in the Marine XII permit, aims for approximately 4.5 BCMA of plateau gas liquefaction capacity through phased development, targeting zero routine gas flaring.
Another FLNG facility with a capacity of about 3.5 BCMA is under construction and expected to begin production in 2025.
