Waiting for icebreaker assistance
As of 8:00am (MT), March 15th, there are 97 cargo ships waiting for icebreaker assistance in the eastern Gulf of Finland, the Port Authority of Big Port St. Petersburg said.
The St. Petersburg PA reports of total 137 merchant ships currently located in the water area, 18 of them – in motion.
Over the past day 22 ships reached the entrance buoy of St Petersburg port, 28 vessels are westbound from the Gulf area, 16 ships arrived at the port of St. Petersburg, 9 – departed.
5 merchant vessels waiting for icebreaker assistance are subject to ice restrictions, 1 ship is currently at St. Petersburg port, 3 – in Viborg and 1 – in Ust-Luga.
