Sea-Cargo has purchased and plans to remodel the vessels Misida and Misana, which will undergo a transformation in summer 2025 to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
The upgrades aim to reduce fossil fuel consumption by up to 50%. As informed, the transformation is being carried out at the Western Shipyard in Klaipeda, with designs from Marine Design & Consulting and project engineering by Western Baltic Engineering and Naval Tec. Key upgrades include:

3 RotorSails from Norsepower to harness wind energy for additional clean power.

Optimized Propellers from Kongsberg for improved fuel efficiency at 14 knots.

NOx Scrubber by Pureteq to lower air emissions.

Upgrades to Machinery and Control Systems from Wartsila for energy savings and improved bridge equipment.

Covered Weather Deck to increase cargo capacity.

1600 m² Solar Panels on the weather deck cover.

Battery and Frequency Converter Systems from NES for energy storage, shore power, and peak shaving.

New Power Management System from Smart Automation for optimal energy efficiency by integrating rotor sails and battery technology.
The vessels will be renamed Trans Hav and Trans Sol, reflecting Sea-Cargo’s heritage. After the rebuild, they will continue their operations between West Coast Norway and the Continent.
