French container shipping giant CMA CGM Group announced it is currently dealing with a cyber-attack impacting peripheral servers.
As soon as the security breach was detected, external access to applications was interrupted to prevent the malware from spreading,
…the company said in a statement.
Access to information systems is gradually resuming, while all CEVA Logistics sites and systems are operating normally.
An investigation is underway by CMA CGM’s internal experts and by independent experts.
CMA CGM is the world’s fourth largest shipping company following Danish Maersk, Geneva-based MSC and Chinese COSCO. All of the top three liners have also suffered cyber attacks in the last three years, including a major breach in Maersk’s systems in 2017 which cost the company financial losses up to USD 300 million.
