The US has every reason to collaborate with China in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in order to enhance connectivity and jointly mitigate global development issues, according to a senior Chinese diplomat.
Namely, Chinese Consul General in New York, Huang Ping noted that the BRI could be a point of agreement for China and the US cooperation in addressing development across the world, by boosting connectivity in trade, policy, infrastructure, and finance.

Specifically, Mr. Huang wrote on the newspaper Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the US could benefit from the BRI, as it offers possibilities for mutual learning and understanding. This is achieved by connecting different societies and civilizations, with the current BRI members having already reaped tangible benefits.
The diplomat explained that the US should go along with the global economy, especially as many developing countries have entered into rapid industrialization. If the US enters, it will also be a good opportunity to share knowledge and standards.
He also added that the BRI will increase potential for bringing new momentum to the development of US’s relationship with China.
