One product is no longer available – must be replaced
Danish ships always carry a mandatory medicine chest on board in which the selection of medicine and equipment has been determined by an executive order. Now, one of the products is no longer available and must be replaced by another medicament.
Domperidone suppository
It is no longer possible to buy 12.11 Domperidone 30 mg suppositories. The European Medicines Agency has required additional documentation on the product. Therefore, the manufacturer has chosen to withdraw it from the market.
Tablets will replace the suppositories
In the future, the persons in charge of medical care are to buy tablets of the name Domperidone 10 mg instead of the suppositories. There must be 30 tablets in the medicine chest irrespective of whether it is medicine chest A, B, C or CR.
Remember the user guidelines
User guidelines for the tablets are available from the webpage of the Danish Maritime Authority. The person in charge of medical care must print a copy of these user guidelines and insert them in the folder “Inventory, control document and user guidelines of medicaments and medical equipment”.
