The Port of Rotterdam Authority will replace a section of the slopes stretching over more than 9 kilometres that have been contaminated by the ‘Bow Jubail’ oil spill. Currently, cleaning is still focused on those sections of the port infrastructure that have not yet been cleaned.
The European Parliament’s Environment Committee has voted to strengthen the European Commission’s Plastics Strategy, which aims to reduce plastic pollution. Under the Strategy, the Commission proposed new EU-wide rules in May targeting 10 single-use plastic products.

Strong winds have caused an small oil leak during fuel oil removal operations from the grounded car carrier ‘Makassar Highway’ off the Swedish coast, according to the latest update from the Coast Guard. Approximately 7000 liters of oil have been removed so far by Coast Guard ships.
