On February 19, a cargo ship collided with the crew transfer vessel (CTV) World Bora, off the island of Rügen. The CTV was carrying 15 crewmembers at the time. Of them, five were injured lightly, while ten were more seriously injured.
The Cypriot-flagged cargo ship was heading from Copenhagen to Szczecin, while the Danish-flagged ‘World Bora’, with four crewmembers and eleven workers on board, was going to the ‘Viking’ wind farm in the Exclusive Economic Zone.

Due to the accident, a total of five people on board the CTV were lightly injured and ten more seriously. The injured received further medical care in nearby hospitals.
Both ships sustained damages on their hulls, but there was no pollution reported.
The police is currently investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collision.
