A Korean ship captain and its second engineer from Indonesia were arrested by the Minjur police, after the latter stepped out from Kamarajar port without seeking permission from immigration officials.
The police reportedly said that on 3 September, the second engineer moved out of the port without seeking permission from the immigrant officials.
The engineer got treated for his injuries at a private hospital after stepping out.
When he came back, he had been stopped by CSIF personnel. The latter then notified the immigration department.
A case had been registered under the Foreigners’ Act. Both the captain and the second engineer had been arrested.
Another person, who had been assigned as a ship agent, was also arrested, as he had been to the hospital with the second engineer.
All three will be taken into custody and will be inquired about the fight.
