Fire erupted on board the Greek-flagged carrier ‘Ore Sudbury’, in Guaiba, Brazil, on November 22. As the Hellenic Coast informed, due to the fire, the Captain died, while the rest of the crew are reported as safe. No pollution has been noticed neither.
During the early hours of November 22, a fire took place on the accommodation area of the third deck of the Greek carrier ‘Ore Sudbury’, in the sea area Guaiba of Brazil.
At the time of the fire, 27 crew members were on board the ship. However, the Hellenic Coast Guard informed that because of the fire, the Captain of the ship lost his life.
The fire was put out by the crew of the ship using their own equipment.
No other crew was injured, while there was no pollution neither.
After the incident, local authorities were informed.
