Capital-Executive Ship Management Corp. has successfully taken delivery of four new 2,862 TEU container vessels from HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
These four sister ships, C/V ‘Acastos’, C/V ‘Adonis’, C/V ‘Anaxagoras’, and C/V ‘Acheloos’, are equipped with a single-tier lashing bridge that enhances stack-weights and accommodates 604 refrigerated containers. According to the company, the raised deck house design improves visibility and increases nominal intake.
The vessels feature optimized hull designs and smart ship technologies aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact. They are outfitted with advanced navigation systems and more powerful bow thrusters for safe and precise maneuvering.
Furthermore, crew and cargo safety are bolstered by an intelligent CCTV system that uses augmented reality images for monitoring.
These ships are prepared for Alternative Marine Power (AMP) and include SOx exhaust gas cleaning systems, with configurations in place for future conversion to LNG fuel.
AMP, also known as “cold ironing” or “shore power,” is a technology that allows ships to plug into onshore electrical power sources while docked at port, rather than using their onboard diesel generators. This practice significantly reduces emissions of pollutants such as sulfur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulate matter, as well as greenhouse gases, by enabling ships to shut down their engines and utilize cleaner energy from the local grid.
Additionally, an extended dry-docking scheme allows the vessels to operate for up to 7.5 years without requiring drydocking, providing operational flexibility and efficiency.
