Bureau Veritas announced the launch of the ‘My Ballast Water Management Plan’ (My BWMP) platform, aiming to assist ship owners to get their International BWM Certificate and approved BWM Plan, ahead of Ballast Water Management Convention entering into force on 8 September.
As BV explains, My BWMP enables ship owners to get immediate online quotes, pay online and submit their documents and then get the approved BWM plan.
My BWMP also enables Bureau Veritas to address the high volumes to be processed within short time-frame.
The platform is easy and it provides a rapid process for entering the required details for individual ships or fleets to secure a tailor-made quotation and enable the required documents to be submitted by a client shipowner or ship manager.
It is noted that:
- For BV classed ships under the Flag State Administrations of Singapore, Sweden and New Zealand, the International Ballast Water Management Certificate shall be issued only after approval of the BWMP and initial survey.
- For ships under Liberia or Panama Flag State Administrations, approval of BWMP shall be directly requested to the Flag Authorities.
- For other Flag State Administrations, the Statement of Compliance / International Ballast Water Management Certificate can be issued administratively at BWMP complete submission.
