A Turkish bulker run aground in a storm as it headed to Ukraine to load grain, on February 6.
According to local media, the 47,000-dwt TQ Ordu was sailing from Istanbul when it was forced onto a beach at Sile Sofular.
More specifically, the vessel faced waves of up to six metres and a wind speed of nearly 30 knots. However, the ship requested no assistance, and was carrying 23 crew members on board.
No injuries were reported.
However, for precautionary purposes Coast Guard teams were sent to the region, to ensure the crew is safe.
Information reports that he TQ Ordu left Eregli in Turkey on 2 February and arrived in Istanbul on 4 February.
