A bulk carrier collided with a container carrier at the southern anchorage area of Bosphorus due to adverse weather conditions, on 21 November.
According to the initial information, each vessel has suffered slight damages but no leakage or no sea pollution is reported.
The collision has not affected vessel traffic in the Bosphorus or the transit schedule in the Strait.
In another incident that took place in October, traffic was suspended temporarily on the Bosphorus, after a vessel grounded off Türkeli, according to the Directorate General of Turkey’s Coastal Safety.
The grounding came just a week after the MSC containership Malena experienced an engine failure in front of Canakkale, in the Turkish Dardanelles Strait.
