To support its vision to become a global maritime hub and stay ahead of competition, Singapore is currently building a mega port in Tuas, to be fully completed by 2040. The new port will be able to handle twice the amount of cargo that now passes through Singapore.
The new mega port will also be 2x the size of Ang Mo Kio and the world’s largest fully-automated terminal, as it will be run with a fleet of over 1,000 automated guided vehicles and fully-automated yard cranes.
The video presents key issues with respect to the future port, including the challenges to be faced during its construction.
