Julien Boulland

Based out of Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore’s head-office, alongside the commercial team, Julien Boulland serves as the Sustainable Strategy Leader and Head of the Future Shipping Team. In this role, he focuses on advancing next-generation fuels, including hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia, as well as pioneering technologies for decarbonizing shipping, such as carbon capture, wind-assistance, air lubrication systems, and design optimization. Julien’s career began as a naval architect at Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, where he spent a decade in Singapore and South-East Asia specializing in the LNG market as subject matter expert in gas technologies for shipping. Prior to his current assignment, he was a principal expert in gas technologies within the corporate BV M&O Ship Newbuilding management team.

Julien holds an MSc in Maritime Engineering Science from the University of Southampton and is a graduate from the Ecole des Mines de Nancy in France.
