Argentina has relaxed safety regulations on shipments traveling along the crucial Parana-Paraguay waterway, a move that could increase cargo traffic by up to 7%, according to Security Minister Patricia Bullrich.
As reported by Reuters, this change allows ships to carry more cargo, enhancing efficiency and reducing costs while maintaining safety standards. As the world’s top exporter of soybean oil and flour, and a major supplier of corn and wheat, over 80% of Argentina’s agricultural exports pass through this waterway.
