Anglo-Eastern has successfully bunkered 100,000 m³ of liquefied natural gas (LNG) across its fleet of LNG dual fuel vessels.
According to Anglo-Eastern, this achievement was reached through 35 successful LNG bunkering operations, made possible by collaboration with key partners, including Anglo American, BOCOM Leasing, and MOL Chemical Tankers.
As informed, in 2021, Anglo-Eastern also initiated in-house LNG dual-fuel courses to ensure that crew members and shore managers receive proper training for operating this technology. The training includes simulators and virtual reality (VR) components to enhance skills and safety.
To remind, according to a recent analysis, Drewry expects LNG to be feasible as a marine fuel until 2035, despite the scrutiny over its fossil footprint and methane slip. Additionally, ABS noted in their 2024 Outlook that adoption of alternative fuels, such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol, and ammonia, is increasing, especially in the very large crude carrier (VLCC) segment.
