According to American Club, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) has intensified its scrutiny of vessel operations within its port areas, leading to a notable rise in the imposition of administrative penalties.
These efforts have led to increases in administrative penalties being imposed upon both vessels and seafarers found not to be in compliance with local, national and international regulations.
Examples of incidents which may lead to such penalties, and the quantum associated with each, are found in the attached table.
