The American P&I Club announced extension of the validity of its PEME certificates to 31st August 2020, as the significant restrictions on shipowners’ ability to perform regular crew changes continue to be a challenge for the maritime community.

As a result, the Club is further extending the validity of American Club PEME certificates to August 31, 2020 for seafarers originating from Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine who:
- currently hold valid American Club PEME certificates which have expired, or which are due to expire prior to August 31, 2020; and
- are currently deployed onboard a vessel entered for P&I cover with the Club.
