The American P&I Club is further extending the validity PEME certificates to 1st September 2021, for seafarers originating from Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
According to the club, the significant restrictions on shipowners’ ability to perform regular crew changes, due to COVID-19, continue to be a challenge for the maritime community. The extension is valid for those who:
1) currently hold valid American Club PEME certificates which have expired, or which are due to expire prior to Sept 1, 2021; and
2) are currently deployed onboard a vessel entered for P&I cover with the Club.
