Brattingsborg, a general cargo vessel, was transmitting the ‘My Song’ yacht from the Caribbean to Genova; Yet, according to sources, the yacht was lost at sea on Saturday night, May 25, after slipping from the transportation ship in the Mediterranean.
Specifically, the 39.6 metre yacht was stowed on board the cargo vessel, which left St John in the Caribbean on May 7 and was due to dock in Genoa, Italy on May 27.
However, due to challenging weather conditions, it is thought that the yacht fell from the ship was later located by the crew semi-submerged with the stern underwater.
Most probably, the yacht was being transferred to Genova for repairs or maintenance, to rig her ready for regatta. She was to be on Balearic island by Jun 3, to take part in the the Loro Piana Superyacht regatta.
The Panama-flagged Brattingsborg cargo ship was built in 2010, operating for Jutha Maritime PCL, Thailand.
Concluding, the yacht ‘My Song’ was built in 2016 by Baltic Yachts, costing 30 million euro, and being owned by Pier Luigi Loro Piana
