Víctor Rossi, Uruguay’s Transport & Public Works Minister, informed that mid-year Uruguay will present its master plan for port activity 2018-2035. As Mr. Rossi said, the plan is now in its final stage of development.
The plan contains projections about new operational and commercial areas, which include the construction of new docks, port expansion and more services.

The document contains reports from the Spanish consultancy Valencia Port, which was hired for this project from the Development Bank of Latin America-CAF.
A previews of the Master Plan has already been presented before a group of public and private operators in Uruguay and abroad the Minister said. The plan is expected tp define the direction of the port system of Uruguay and the port of Montevideo, in particular until 2035.
Uruguay’s ports administration will also conduct a series of workshops with public, private and political system operators to present the contents of the plan and receive suggestions.
