The 4th Annual SAFETY4SEA Forum, a PRO BONO event, successfully concluded on Wednesday 2nd of October 2013 in Eugenides Foundation Athens. A unique panel of 17 global experts debated a wide range of issues, covering safety and quality regulatory update, maritime security and anti- piracy issues and also best practices in the shipping industry.
The event has been well attended by over 430 delegates at the venue representing more than 220 companies/organisations. The event organized by SQE Marine Group and sponsored by Aspida Maritime Security, Transmar Shipping, Dorian Hellas, Seamar Management SA, The Marshall Islands Registry, MARITECH, CLEAN MARINE, MAGSAYSAY, Hellenic Register of Shipping, T&T Salvage, SQE MARINE, SQE ACADEMY and supported by Steamship Mutual, MARTECMA, Green Award Foundation, NAMEPA, InterManager, IFSMA, EENMA, WISTA Hellas and The American P&I Club
During his welcome address Mr Apostolos Belokas, as the Forum chairman outlined the objectives of this PRO BONO event, including enhancing Maritime Safety Awareness and promoting Best Practices for the industry.
Presentations were given in three sessions as follows:
Session 1 : Safety and Quality Regulatory Update and Experience

All sessions ended with a round table discussion and exchange with the audience.
Finally Apostolos Belokas, Forum Chairman thanked the delegates for their participation, the sponsors for their support and the speakers for their excellent presentations and contribution towards forum objectives.
