Many unfortunate incidents at the time prompted legislative initiatives which needed to be analyzed and discussed in order to effectively deal with the problem at hand. With the signing of the Kyoto Protocol, interest moved to environmental matters, how shipping affects them and how we could do better. To do this we attempted to understand how all forms of emissions affected the environment of our habitat, and study the many and very complicated interactions involved.”
